News From Casa De Esperanza

Dear member of the great family of Casa de Esperanza,
We want to keep you informed of the small and big achievements of our family, that's why
Every two or three months, we will be sending you a small report. We hope you can
enjoy it!

Mother´s Day

In May we celebrate here in Bolivia, Mother´s Day. Many of our kids partake in school
performances. It is always a joy to see them participating for this special occasion. Many of the
“Tias” (house moms) receive cards and notes of appreciation from their kids which adds a
personal touch. The encouragement goes a long way giving one more reason to go the “extra
mile” as they do their daily work of mothering these precious and needy children.

"Toma De Nombre"

Also, we had the “Toma de Nombre”, a special act for the Senior class where they use their
brand-new suits and dresses. Everyone at the “Promo” looks pretty or handsome!
Congratulations to all the students of the Promotion and much success in their last year of
school.
[Toma de Nombre means “taking the name”. This is a special tradition marked by the
promotions of the class that will be graduating. It is an act of taking the name of the 2018
Promo which signifies the start of their last year in school life. Choosing a name for their class
is paying tribute to the friendships forged for years, the camaraderie shown in their daily
coexistence, and interaction of its class members who are like a family.].

Annual Camp

We had our winter vacation camp. This year it was extended to last 5 days! At the beginning
the days were cold and rainy. However, the last 2 days had plenty of sunshine, and the river
was clean for swimming. So, an extra day was added. It was a blast!
Please take a minute to pray for us today, our finances can be a concern especially as we head
toward the end of the year. We want to trust in our good Lord and His faithfulness for all
things.

Downtown House

We are glad to inform you that almost all the houses have been repaired on our main campus.
The downtown house has been repaired as well. It sustained a really big crack in its foundation
due to the intense rains we have here. Thank God all the damage is repaired now and the
house is ready to be inhabited.

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

We  have a new construction project. To improve the care for our children and as a requirement from the government, we are adding
some offices and common areas in a new third floor. It will include a new infirmary room, a
substantial conference/video room and some extra classrooms for music and sewing.   Your donation for this will be appreciated.

The story of Peniel

DSC03305.JPG

peniel flores

Peniel was born on February 24,2011.

Her life started as a struggle. Born to a drug addicted mother, She was sold on the streets of Bolivia for two bottles of beer. The police heard about this and rescued her.

She was taken to our Orphanage. Here she received love, and a family.

Soon after arriving we learned that she had a congenital life threatening heart defect.

A doctor inserted a shunt and her care givers Fidel and Charo were told she would only live for 3 months.

She thrived in the home and was taught about Gods love for her. It was clear that He was watching over her.

When she was 5 a doctor from the USA cane to see her He was with the Heart project from Samaratins purse. Although he could give a diagnosis her condition was too complicated to perform in Bolivia.

A few months later a couple visiting the home met Peniel. They brought her to the US and found a hospital that would do the surgery at no cost. On January 17, 2018 at the university of Michigan Peniel had her life saving surgery. She now is a happy healthy 6 year old with a chance for a full life.

Her name means face of God. When you look at this beautiful little girl and all of the miracles in her life you truly do see His face.
